9 Weeks-- 1st Ultrasound

Yesterday I had my 1st ultrasound and boy did it sure make reality set in, as if the morning sickness wasn't enough!  I can't believe we are having another baby!  Baby is measuring just perfect at 9 weeks and has a strong heart beat of 173!  Apparently from week 8 to 9 there's a lot of changes with baby like the hands and feet don't look like paddles anymore, and the fingers and toes are forming. The embryonic tail disappears so it looks more like a baby! The ultrasound picture I will post isn't that great of a picture, you could see more clearly on the screen. Ultrasound tech Becky said it looks like the babys back is facing us and the head is on the right, and you can see it tiny arms on the sides.  It was so neat watching baby move around and seeing the heartbeat flicker on the screen.  My blood pressure was 98/56 at my checkup. I had checked it a couple days before and thought it wasn't right but the doctor said it's completely normal for being pregnant.

My next appointment is right before Thanksgiving so I'll keep everyone posted!

Here's the picture from yesterday!

Oh and Happy Halloween !!!!  Here's a pic of our sweet Haley Bug!

Full Steam Ahead at 6 Weeks!

So I've been reading my blog lately about my pregnancy with Haley ( I blogged the whole time!) because this pregnacy is happening at the same time!! The due date with this baby is June 3rd, only a week apart from when Haley was originally due on June 10th. Crazy huh? I think it's so awesome that I can compare my pregnancies since I blogged about it because I sure can't mentally remember that stuff from 4.5 years ago!

Today I am 6 weeks. Baby is as tiny as a sweet pea. Last week the nausea already kicked in, gagging every now on then, and the statement that pregnancy makes your smelling senses like a bloodhound couldn't be more true! I smell everything.  Today I attempted to go grocery shopping after doing a little cardio at the Y and the gagging/coughing/almost tossing my cookies almost happened in the parking lot so I drove myself home and decided that grocery shopping just wasn't gonna happen today. Called the Dr on the way home and they called me in the "miracle pill" that I referred to my last pregancy, Zofran.  Helps with nausea and vomiting so I'm hoping I start to feel better. Luckily this time around insurance covers the medicine 100%, no copay! Last time insurance would only cover 15 pills and if I needed more I could only get 12 more but I'd have to pay $50 out of pocket without insurance covering it. Crazy what hormones can do to you!  Oh I can't forget to mention, I had a sucky time on the ellipitical today because the lady next to me almost made me puke, she smelled so sweaty and sour, she just made my morning worse.

Other than that, Haley is super excited to become a big sister! She has been telling everyone at school and her teachers that we are having a girl.  So Haley has made it obvious that she would like a baby sister. She also tells everyone that "Daddy wants a baby brother so he can take him fishing" haha. Smart girl!  So according to the chinese calendar predictions, says its going to be a boy this time. It said a boy when I was pregnant with Haley too, but that wasn't the case.  My SIL Chrissy has a method that has yet to be proved wrong, with her it said boy, and she had a boy. With Haley it said girl, and that was right too. And with this pregnancy, the method says boy, so we shall see!  We would definitely love a boy this time around.

I will definitely be blogging this go around! It's so great to be able to look back at all this. I'd love to print the blogs out when Haley and the new baby get much older and put it in an album for them to have along with baby pictures.

Until next time.....

2014

Here we are, half way through 2014! Last time I blogged it was a couple months after Haley turned 3.  We now have a 4 year old (wow!) and we just celebrated our 5 year wedding anniversary!  I guess you could say our year has been good, we have had up and downs like everyone else.  Last year I worked so hard trying to kick all the weight I kept gaining, lost 23 lbs (went from a size 13 down to a 6!). Yay me! Then 2 vacations hit, then we bought a house, then here came the holidays and I haven't been on the bandwagon since which means it all came back! Before the holidays I became Spa Director at Planet Beach and picked up more hours right before my SIL Chrissy had her precious baby boy Brody.  Earlier this year I got Haley registered for Pre-K at her church day school, she just went to her first VBS (vacation bible school) where I cried like a baby dropping her off because their were big kids there too and it seemed like she was too little to leave!! I was anxious and so excited to pick her up on her first day, but it sure was hard that I had to wait in a car rider line to get her. Regular day school is not like that, I walk her in every morning and walk in to get her at pick-up time. It was scary! LOL. She is finishing up swim lessons tomorrow, and beginning Dance (ballet, tap, & tumbling) tomorrow! My baby isn't a baby anymore, although no matter how old she gets, she will always be my baby girl!!

Just recently I decided to take a huge cut in pay and step down as Spa Director so I can go back to spending more time with Haley. She is my world <3  We are now counting down the days looking forward to our yearly vacation in Pensacola with my 2nd family (my in-laws).  Very excited!  Haley thinks Pensacola is her 2nd home!

Right after Pensacola I will be having a very minor "surgery" if that's what you want to call it.  My mom had a spot on her arm removed recently and she was concerned it could be melanoma. She has had skin cancer, but not melanoma, for years. The results from the spot removed came back normal thank god. While I was waiting to hear about her results, I figured it would probably be a good idea to start getting my skin checked yearly and have the dr check out 2 moles I have on my abdomen. Well my biopsies came back and both moles were abnormal. I was basically told to have them surgically removed or they will turn into cancer eventually.  So when I get back from vacation, I will be having them cut out and the surrounding skin so it won't be a problem later. I was referred to a plastic surgeon and he will be doing both removals in the office then stitching them up. 2 weeks later I'll go back and get the stiches removed. My parents have been so worried but I keep reminding them that I'm okay! It's so minor. But I guess if it was Haley having to go through this, I'd be devastated and worried too.  Speaking of feeling that way, I got Haley allergy tested last month.. HORRIBLE! Talk about watching your baby in pain and nothing you can do about it. We both cried like babies. And the worst part was her uncontrollable crying after the test on her back and her yelling "mama I need a band-aid". She didn't understand what was going on and why!  She has to take Nasonex daily to help her with her allergies. If that doesn't keep them under control, then the next option would be allergy shots weekly like I had all through my childhood. I don't want to go that route if we don't have too. They also diagnosed her with Asthma but those symptons rarely happen, but if they do, we now have an albuterol inhaler instead of having to use that breathing machine.

Although we've had some minor bumps in the road this year, I know we very blessed to have our Family and Friends to count on and be there for us.  Here's a few pictures since I've last posted!
