This new year has been great so far! The other day I was reading a book "baby's first year", a book I always went to for reference with Haley. Well I came across the section about teeth and middle of the night feedings. Let me start by saying, when Philip has been super tired in the past, he has slept through the night. And that's only happened twice. I've really enjoyed our 3am feeding because I get to cuddle with my sweet baby!! Crazy right? Well as I was reading this book it said unless you want to pay for your dentists' kids to go to school, then stop middle of the night feedings!! It also said babies his age are capable of sleeping through the night for at least 12 hours without eating. Which I know is true because 1- Philip has done it and 2-he wakes up at the same time every night which tells me it's out of habit, not hunger! So I tried what the book said, instead of going in there to nurse, go in with water and they will start to realize they aren't going to be fed anymore at night. So I did that the first 2 nights and surprisingly he cried for maybe 5 mins then went back to sleep. Night 3 somehow was a little worse but I still didn't nurse him. And last night he slept from 8:15pm to 7:15am and didn't wake us up once! No crying, fussing, nothing!! I woke up feeling so refreshed. It was awesome!!! It's been almost 8 long months and I think I'll get my sleep back. I'll miss our sweet cuddles at 3am but I'm ready to finally feel rested!
Big boy has also started pulling himself up! I think he may just pass up crawling and go straight to walking. He got mad the other day when I was pumping and started crawling backwards while throwing a fit because I wouldn't pick him up. He rocks back and forth on his knees but he just won't go anywhere. If you hold him and try to set up down to sit up on the floor, he straightens his legs out because he wants to stand up! He's growing so fast. He's almost outgrown all his 6 month clothes, especially his pj's and size 9 months still fit but probably not for long. He's so funny, he will eat his baby food then turn his head when he's done bc he's full. Then if you have food, he acts all of a sudden hungry again bc he wants what your eating!
So yesterday Trey & Haley went to Monster Jam! It was the 1st year I've missed out (Philip couldn't go so I had to hang out with my buddy). I bought the tickets on black Friday so I got them for a steal. When Trey & Haley got there they ran into a guy who Trey knows who owns Texas Truck Works and he let T & H go up to his suite. They had so much fun together. She got a flag, big tire earmuffs, a shirt, and tons of fun memories with Daddy. She even got to see the monster trucks do back flips! Next year we are invited to the suite again so Philip and I will be tagging along!
Haley Brooke is constantly making me laugh. Since I blog to capture these memories, I have to share a few words that crack me up that Haley says.
Scientution teach = substitution teacher
Handsitizer= hand sanitizer
I'll add a few more when I can remember them. I need to write this stuff down!!!
I am so excited, today I got my new bowflex m5 elliptical machine. It has been so hard to even find the time to work out since I've had Philip. The days go by way too fast, there just aren't enough hours. I've been gaining weight since I've had him because nursing makes me eat anything and everything. I'm always so hungry and find myself eating food that's convenient rather than healthy. So now that I'm getting this new machine I'm extra motivated! Knowing I love the elliptical and love working out when I get into the routine, I should have no problem losing this extra weight I gained plus more! I'll keep track of my weight loss and update. I've done it before and I know I can do it again!
Well I hope everyone has a great Monday! Will update again soon!
