I finally got an answer!

For the past 4 weeks I have developed itchy red bumps all over my belly, my back, and my thighs. I went to the OB/GYN on Thurs 2/25 where Dr. Reed suggested I probably have a pregnancy rash called PUPPP and the only cure for it is delivery. However, she did feel like I should go get it diagnosed just in case at the dermatologist. So I made the appointment at Dr. Krenek's office for Mon 3/1.

When I went to my appt he did a very painful skin biopsy after he examined the bumps. He did not feel like I had PUPPP. I've waited 4 long days and finally got an answer! He called me about 7pm which I was shocked he was working that late, to tell me I have something called Pityriasis Rosea. Suprisingly, it is not pregnancy related at all! He told me that the only "cure" for it is to have ultra violet light whether I get it from a tanning bed or from the sunlight. He recommended this weekend that I lay out in the sun in my bathing suit. Basically, he wants my fat belly hanging out of my bikini that I probably can barely fit into anymore! This skin condition should go away in 6-12 weeks he said. The good news is that this will not harm our baby Haley, but the bad/really frustrating news is that I itch like crazy and only ultraviolet light and time will make it go away!! And weirdly there is no way to find out what caused this "rash" in the first place!

I am going to call Dr. Reed's office tomorrow and let them know what I've been diagnosed with and talk to them about how they feel about a tanning bed. I just want my itchy bumps to go away! He did say he strongly feels that if I get some ultraviolet light the bumps should start going away. I was told if it gets worse, or different symptoms start arising, or if they really don't start going away after time then I need to come back in and get re-evaluated.

Now here's something to look forward to.... this saturday we are going to do a 3d/4d ultrasound! I will post those ultrasound pictures once I get them! We are super excited and hope she cooperates!

Something I'm not really looking forward to... I go for my 1hr glucose test on Thurs 3/18. If I fail that one then I will have to schedule a 3 hr glucose test which will not be fun. Also, when I go on Thurs I will be 28wks so I will start going for my follow-ups every 2 weeks instead of every 4 weeks!

Well that's about it for now! I'll keep you posted!
