Halfway through my pregnancy and we can't wait to meet Baby Philip! Last time I posted was at 9 weeks. I was so sick and the miracle pill Zofran that I took when pregnant with Haley didn't work at all and the insurance covered it 100% this time. I knew it was too good to be true! So the next thing I tried was Phenergan cream to rub on my wrists. That took the edge off but I was still nauseated all day long and throwing up morning, day and night. I lost weight in the first 3 months and was sick the entire time. As I entered my 2nd trimester I was feeling better each day but even then I didn't have much of an appetite. To date at 21 weeks, I've only gained 6 lbs. Good so far!
So as you know we are having a boy! Trey & Haley went with me to my 12 week ultrasound appt. During the ultrasound the baby wasn't moving much and she said the baby was very lazy lol and sent us outside so I could walk around for 10 mins to try and get the baby moving. We got back into the ultrasound room for the genetic ultrasound and he was moving around a little bit. The ultrasound tech asked if we wanted to know. I said yes but we would wait til 20 weeks at my next ultrasound since that's typically when you find out. Well I had to ask her why she asked and if she knew because it was a random question at that time. She said yes she knew! I said well if you tell us now at 12 weeks, how sure are you? She said she had never been wrong in the 22 yrs she's been doing it. So we decided that was the day we would find out! Trey hardly ever gets me good with a surprise so I told the lady to show him on ultrasound but I do not want to find out in that room. I wanted Trey to find out and suprise me. So she showed him the ultrasound and afterwards I was trying to study him and was sure it was a girl because he had no facial expression at all! I knew he wanted a boy and I was sure if that's what we were having that he would have a big grin that he couldn't hide. I had some blood work I had to stay for so Trey and Haley went to Target to buy a baby outfit so I could open it to find out what we are having.
The blood work was finished and I hurried out across the parking lot to my car waiting for them to get back from target so I could open up my suprise. Trey pulled up not even 5 mins after and I anxiously climbed inside the truck and closed my eyes and reached inside the gift bag. Haley was distracted by eating candy cane oreos in the back seat. Lol. So I closed my eyes and felt for an outfit. Pulled it out and I just knew when my eyes opened I would be holding a cute baby girl outfit. I opened and immediately started crying and said "oh my god its a boy???" I was so happy and so surprised!! I would have never thought we would be blessed with what most people want. The one boy and one girl. So we decided that since Trey got his son we would name him after his daddy, Philip Gene McDaniel IV.
Since Haley was born I have saved all her stuff. Clothes, high chairs, bouncers, blankets, you name it! All stored up in bags and bins in our attic. We brought it all down this weekend and now our entire attic is about empty. I never expected we would have a boy!!
So I'm halfway through my pregnancy, feeling great and excited to meet our Baby Philip! Trey has already got rid of our "office" and made it Philips room. Crib is put together and everything else we have is in the room waiting to be organized. Trey's excited to have a son and Haley's super excited to have a baby brother. Haley's constantly hugging my tummy. Trey got to feel Philip move for the first time at 20 weeks. This is our last baby so I'm enjoying every minute of it!
Here's a few pics until I can update again!
