Haley is 4 mths old!

I can't believe our little Haley bug is 4 mths old already! She is learning some new things and it's very exciting:) She is reaching out to touch her toys, laughing, talking up a storm, and just a few weeks ago she found her thumb!! She has outgrown all of her newborn size clothes and is now wearing her 3mth outfits. We took Haley to the doctor this past Wednesday and she now weighs 13lbs 5oz and she is 23.5 inches long! She also got her second round of shots which gave her a fever later that evening. Poor baby. Her next round of shots will be on November 22...and it's going to be torture for her because she will be getting her ears pierced the same day. Good news is that they will numb her ears for a whole hour before they pierce them. In the mean time I will love on her and baby her so I don't feel so bad:(

So as most of you know, I've joined a Mom's group! I absolutely love it! I take Haley to all the playdates (except I had to miss the one today due to Haleys fever), I enjoy going to Moms Night Outs, and I plan to attend a Family Event soon! It sure keeps me busy but I don't mind it at all! I think it's great that I have so much in common with a group of random women I've never met in my life but it seems like I've known a couple of them forever! I guess this is the time in my life when I start making those "true" friends:)

Well this afternoon was some type of adventure... Haley and I took a little trip to Babies R Us. Unfortunately Haley will not sleep at all without being swaddled so I had to find a size Large because she was growing out of her size small. (The swaddling issue is a whole nother story that I will have to tell you later). We also bought some baby spoons and bowls since the peditrician said now she is 4mths it is okay for us to start her on rice cereal. We also bought her an adorable Halloween costume so she can be a fairy princess. I was debating on a costume but decided that it was a must since it was going to be her very 1st Halloween. We will be out of town for Halloween but Mommy will be giving a photoshoot for friends and family to see! When we came home from Babies R Us I made her a bottle and a bowl of rice cereal. I tricked her into thinking we were doing her normal bottle feeding routine while Daddy was secretly putting together the high chair that Auntie Lynn bought us. Once that was quickly put together we put her in it and introduced her to some new food. It didnt go as bad as I thought it would (I pictured her spitting and blowing it everywhere lol). I wouldn't say she loved it. We will try again tomorrow.

Now about the swaddling issue...in the previous post I told you how the swaddling got started. Well if you try laying her down in her crib and not swaddling, she will suck on her fingers and talk up a storm. Yesterday I tried to lay her down for a nap without swaddling her, and I listened to her for 30 minutes just talking through the monitor and I swore she was telling me "you crazy lady, I'm gonna talk your head off until you get me outta here!". I listened...I took her out of her crib, swaddled her and I'm sure you can guess...yes..she went right to sleep.
