Happy Thanksgiving!

We had a great Thanksgiving! We spent the day at Trey's Aunt Kelly's house and had a great time visiting with family.

As most know, I haven't been getting along with my Mom and she hasn't seen Haley or I in 8 weeks. We had tried to "schedule" with my mom to visit her last week but had to reschedule because it didn't work for her. (Someone really needs to get their priorities in line, I'll just be nice and say that). Anyway, it didn't really feel like thanksgiving today because it was the first year without seeing my parents. After we left Aunt Kelly's house I made a last minute decision to call my mom to see if we could stop by. I figured I would be the bigger person and at least make an effort. When I asked her if it was okay that we stopped by, the first thing that came out of her mouth was "I don't care". I know what your thinking... I should have just said okay and got off the phone but I just really wanted to see my Dad and I wanted him to see Haley. So I asked her why she would say that and of course she says she didn't mean it like that and that I'm welcome to come over if I want. So we did.

Now my mom last week had texted me and asked to see Haley because she misses her. But I'm not sure because if that was so true, she wouldn't have ran next door to their building to hang out there for a bit then smoke outside in the garage the ENTIRE time we were over! She had came inside the house only one time and asked Haley if she wanted a cookie, gave Haley a bite, set it on the counter then walked out instead of feeding it to her. She hasn't seen Haley in 8 weeks! You would think she would be loving on her and watching her play! At least my Dad was there to feed her the rest of her cookie and play with her because he wanted to spend time with her.

My mom also has taken down all the pictures she had of me and my dad, and some of me, Trey, and Haley off her refrigerator. She also cleaned out all of Haley's bibs that were in a kitchen drawer and threw them in the garage. I honestly didn't look around her house to see what changed but I couldn't help but notice. I'm sure if I really did look I would have noticed a lot more.

It's unfortunate that people can act so heartless towards one another. Life goes by so fast and it's so frustrating to see my mom hold grudges over such petty things.

I pray for my mom and hope she will eventually realize how important family is instead of holding grudges over small petty things. It's so sad to see Haley growing so fast and not being able to know her grandma and papa.

Anyway, I hope everyone had a Happy Turkey Day!  Haley sure did :)
